Mesothelioma Asbestosis Lung Cancer Other No Diagnosis

Purpose: The purpose of this trial is to:

• Assess the positive effects on growth of tumour cells
• Study effectiveness of drug on patients
• Assess and monitor any side effects

Eligibility: To be eligible to join this clinical trial you must:

• Be 19 years of age or over
• Have a measurable disease
• Have no brain metastases
• Not have received previous chemotherapy for the condition
• Not have had radiotherapy for at least four weeks
• Not have had surgery for at least two weeks
• Not have received treatment with the trial drug before

Treatment: The process will entail:

• Administering of drug once daily by mouth for as long as benefits are evident.
• Evalutions bi-monthly for a year; four monthly for a year; and twice yearly for a year.
