Mesothelioma Asbestosis Lung Cancer Other No Diagnosis

Neoadjuvant Pemetrexed Disodium... Purpose of trial: The purpose of this clinical trial is:

• To study the effectiveness of the treatment followed by surgery and then radiation therapy
• To monitor whether treatment can shrink tumour prior to surgery
• To monitor any side effects

Eligibility: To be eligible to join this clinical trial you must:

• Be 18 years of age or above
• Have no pericardial mesothelioma history
• Have had no previous biological or radiation therapy, or chemotherapy
• Have had no previous surgery for mesothelioma

Treatment: The process will entail:

• An infusion of pemetrexed disodium and an hourly infusion of cisplatin every three weeks 9up to four courses)
• Surgery within 3-8 weeks of completion of chemotherapy
• Radiation therapy beginning 4-8 weeks after surgery
• Three monthly evaluations for two years
