An announcement was made by the United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York with regards to the guilty plea of John Brewer, age 36, in relation to the charges of illegal removal and disposal of asbestos. Brewer has admitted that he conspired with others to violate the Clean Air Act through his actions.
Brewer had been working for an asbestos abatement company, but he also did some work on the side, which his employer was not aware of. He carried out the illegal removal and disposal of asbestos during his moonlighting, during a project where he was working in asbestos abatement at a manufacturing plant.
In 2005, Brewer performed illegal removal and disposal of asbestos once again whilst moonlighting on another asbestos abatement project. It was revealed that he collected tens of thousand of dollars for the work that he carried out during the moonlighting sessions.
