The defendants in the up and coming WR Grace asbestos trial have been told by a federal judge to be available for proceedings between September 3rd 2007 and Feb of 2008. The order detailing the dates was released earlier last week by District Judge Donald Molloy.
The trial, which was originally due to start this month, has already been delayed. The judge stated that a new date for the trial was being fixed, and would be within the dates detailed on the order, giving all those involved in the case an idea of when they would need to be available for the proceedings.
The WR Grace trial relates to asbestos contamination from the company’s Libby based vermiculite plant, where hundreds of people suffered adverse health effects, and some even died as a result of the asbestos contamination.
In addition to the company being named as a defendant, seven of its former executives are also being named during the trials, as it is alleged that they tried to conceal the dangers of the contamination.
