Close to One Million Dollars Awarded to Port Authority

The Cincinnati Port Authority has received three quarters of a million dollars from the state of Ohio for the abatement and remediation of asbestos.

The money was awarded to the port authority by the Clean Ohio Assistance Fund and is for work that will be carried out at the former American Can building.

The building stands at five stories, and is to be developed into apartments, with one 150 one and two bedroom units to be developed.

The actual cost of the work is set to come to more than $1.1 million, but a chunk of the required funding is being given by the American Can Partners LLC.
