Asbestos Exposure In Rancho Cucamonga

July 27th, 2005

A local couple and some flooring company workers have been exposed to asbestos in Rancho Cucamonga after a flooring job went awry. The couple have since been moved into a hotel because the asbestos levels are too high for them to safely stay in their home. A battle has now commenced over who is at fault for the asbestos exposure.

Ron and Lisa Caron, the couple affected by the exposure, have stated that not only have they had to move to a hotel, where they have now been for four months following the incident, but that their belongings have had to be buried at a special site due to asbestos contamination.

Ron Caron has stated that he will be going for six monthly check-ups with his doctor in case of any signs of asbestos related disease or cancer. Lisa Caron stated: "I'm looking at losing everything I love."

The flooring company, Lowe’s, was hired by the Carons to replace carpeting and tiles in the house. However, the flooring company that was contracted to do the work is placing some blame on Mr. Caron, stating that he started to pull up the flooring himself to make way for new carpet.
