A law firm in the UK has analyzed its figures and confirmed that there is a rising number of deaths caused by mesothelioma in the UK, as indicated by officials at the British Mesothelioma Register. According to figures from the British Mesothelioma Register the number of deaths in the UK from asbestos relates cancer, mesothelioma, continues to rise.
The law firm, Field Fisher Waterhouse, has been representing victims of asbestos exposure for a quarter of a century. Officials from the law firm have used figures relating to the cases that they have dealt with in order to confirm the finding of the British Mesothelioma Register.
According to the figures the number of deaths from mesothelioma in Britain have risen from 153 deaths in 1968 to nineteen hundred and seventy deaths in 2004. These figures also indicate that the peak of the mesothelioma epidemic in the UK could be earlier than anticipated.
One official from Field Fisher Waterhouse stated: "These national figures confirm our experience that mesothelioma deaths are continuing to rise. They show that we have not yet reached the peak in mesothelioma mortality. Since Field Fisher Waterhouse began working on these cases 25 years ago we have seen cases increase from around 200 a year to figures in the region of 2000 a year. Whilst these figures may not increase much over the next few years they will not fall to low levels again for perhaps 20 years or more."
