The death of a man that passed away last September in Ireland has been linked to exposure to the deadly substance asbestos. The man was from Ballina in Ireland, and he passed away at the age of sixty-eight from what is now thought to be a disease related to exposure to asbestos in the workplace.
An investigation into the death of Anthony Holmes was carried out this week in Dublin, Ireland. The Coroner's Court concluded that Mr. Holmes had been exposed to asbestos in the workplace some years ago, and that this was the cause of his untimely death.
Mr. Holmes was apparently exposed to asbestos around forty years ago, and was most probably exposed to asbestos dust on building sites, where he worked during the 1950s and 1960s in England. He passed away last year from cancer.
Asbestos is a substance that is now known to cause a range of serious health problems through exposure to its dust and fibers, and this includes respiratory problems, scarring of the lungs, and a form of cancer known as mesothelioma.
