Lawyer Seeks To File Class Action Suit For 9/11 Exposure

February 3rd, 2006

A trial lawyer is seeking to file a class action lawsuit on behalf of thousands of people that may have suffered as the results of exposure to contaminated air following the September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. This comes after two fire fighters and one police officer lost their lives to various diseases linked to exposure to substances such as asbestos.

It is now thought that a medical and scientific investigation is needed in order to determine what sort of health worries and dangers others that worked at Ground Zero following the terrorist attacks could face. Experts have stated that the deaths of the police officer and fire fighters could be closely linked to exposure to dangerous substances such as asbestos, and therefore an investigation could be warranted.

Studies that have been carried out already have shown that following the terrorist attacks the air in the area was contaminated with a variety of pollutants including asbestos, lead, and mercury among other contaminants. Medics who have been monitoring the health of thousands of people exposed to this air have confirmed that there is a problem, and it is not simply what has become known as World Trade Center Cough.

Experts have stated that the investigation is not only a means to determining the situation with regards to contamination following the attacks, but is also required for the peace of mind of those exposed.
