Dr. Roman Perez Soler

Dr. Roman Perez-Soler currently serves as the Associate Director of Clinical Oncology for the Kaplan Cancer Center at New York University Medical Center. He also holds the following titles at other medical facilities in the New York City area:

  • Chairman of the Oncology Department – Montifiore Medical Center
  • Director for the Division of Oncology – Albert Einstein College of Medicine
  • Associate Director of Clinical Research – Albert Einstein Cancer Center
  • Professor of Medicine and Molecular Pharmacology – Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Dr. Perez-Soler received his Medical Degree at Universidad Autonoma in Barcelona, Spain and also completed his residency there in 1982. His fellowship in medical oncology was completed at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. His board certification in internal medicine came in 1987, and in 1989 he was board-certified in medical oncology.

Dr. Perez-Soler’s specialty is in medical oncology, but he also has strong interests in unique treatments for cancer, like gene therapy and phototherapy. His research studies and trials of innovative treatments for mesothelioma and other cancers of the lung have made him famous among his peers. He has spoken at numerous conferences and workshops on the subject of cancer treatments. Dr. Perez-Soler is currently heavily involved in a Phase II clinical trial related to a combination chemotherapy treatment for pleural mesothelioma. He is considered around the world to be an expert in experimental cancer therapies of all kinds, for many cancer types.

Because of his work with lung cancer research, Dr. Perez-Soler is a member of the Executive Advisory Committee of the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC). He has received several awards for his work in lung cancer research and is credited with over 100 studies, papers, and articles in the field.

Dr. Roman Perez-Soler also has 15 patents in his name related to the pharmaceutical business. He founded Aronex Pharmaceutical, Inc. as well being a co-founder of Transave, Inc., a pharmaceutical company that specializes in an aerosol delivery system of antibiotics and anti-tumor drugs.
