Dr. Philippe A. Chahinian is a Professor of Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and is also a top oncologist and mesothelioma expert practicing at Mount Sinai’s Derald H. Ruttenberg Treatment Center.
Dr. Chahinian is a specialist in internal medicine as well as in the treatment of mesothelioma patients. Mesothelioma is a rare cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Dr. Chahinian’s current practice at the Ruttenberg Treatment Center at Mount Sinai focuses on the treatment of mesothelioma patients, along with other thoracic cancers, lung cancer and thymoma. He supports his mesothelioma specialty by concentrating on medical oncology as a sub-specialty.
His expertise in mesothelioma and oncology, as well as in general internal medicine, has been demonstrated in a number of published articles and papers. Dr. Chahinian was also the co-editor of a book called “Mesothelioma” and co-authored a book about lung cancer. He has been interviewed for several publications, including New York Magazine, and is a sought-after speaker. He most recently acted as the moderator of the 2008 Chemotherapy Foundation Symposium.
