The center employs specialists who are experts in diagnosing and treating lung cancer and, as a group, are generally thought to be authorities in the application of radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery for the treatment of lung cancer. As leaders in advancements in radiation therapy techniques and their use, the researchers and practitioners on the lung cancer team at the Simmons Cancer Center are able to precisely pinpoint tumors in the lungs to provide the most effective radiation treatments possible.
The Simmons Cancer Center has many on-going clinical trials related to lung cancer, including the rare and deadly cancer, mesothelioma.
