Creighton University Medical Center Cancer Center is an important branch of the Creighton University Medical School. The Medical School has been serving Nebraska residents with quality care for over 110 years in Omaha. Its mission is to provide students, physicians and the public with advanced medical knowledge and excellence in education. For patients, the goal is quality medical care. Quality of life for persons facing a battle with cancer is enhanced by research efforts at this cancer center. With funding from the National Institutes of Health, research faculty members at the center are in the process of developing new treatment programs for cancer patients. Additional funding by the American Cancer Society, Nebraska Smoking & Tobacco Funds, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation allows Creighton University Medical Center researchers the ability to combine their knowledge with that of radiation oncologists and other expert medical professionals for work on CUMC cancer research projects.

Improving treatments and lifestyles for cancer patients is a constant goal for university scientists.
